A0 Scouts is brought to you by QC Co Studios - a boutique, independent multimedia publisher and creative cooperative.
We are a growing guild of writers, artists, musicians, and more — hailing from Manila, headquartered in Hong Kong, finding new ways to take our tales and tunes far and beyond.
Our first attempt is called the SONOBELA.
The Sonobela is fiction bundled with a dedicated soundtrack.
Not an audiobook. A sound novel.
Stories are sonically illustrated--with original songs accompanying the unfolding narrative.
Sonobelas can be of any set length, with A0 Scouts being released in episodic drops, each a self-contained moment in a larger world.
"The Promotor" — Los Magno
Los is co-founder of QC Co Studios.
A songwriter and storyteller from Metro Manila, he currently releases new music under the stage name Lossy Fresh and genre fiction under the pen name Xisko Mos.
Los is best known as the frontman of Out of Body Special (OBS)—an award-winning 2000s-era indie ensemble known for frenetic live jams and a rock-infused blend of hip-hop, funk, and soul. OBS released its sole album, Is Love, in 2007 and was named to TIME's list of Asian bands to watch.
In the mid-2010s, he moved to Hong Kong, towing a truckload of song sketches and story ideas for comics and TV—with no clear idea what to do with any of it.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he revisited and developed the shelved material, sparking the idea for an alternative storytelling format combining music and prose fiction.
From this sprang the first episodes of A0 Scouts, a "street Sentai" masked-hero adventure. It is QC Co Studios' debut Sonobela series, carrying the same genre-blending, collaborative DNA as OBS.
