So you've decided to pick up the first installment of our Sonobela series A0 Scouts. Here's exactly what happens next.
The store
When you click "Get Episode 00" on our site, you'll be taken to our storefront, powered by Payhip. (They're an ecommerce service, similar to Gumroad, that handles the technical bits so we can focus on making things.)
Choosing your format
You'll see two audio format options:
- FLAC – For Android users, PC listeners, or anyone who wants a versatile high-quality file that plays on most devices.
- ALAC – For Apple users. Same lossless quality, but in Apple's native format for seamless playback on iPhones, Macs, and iPads.
Either way, you get the full package: the Episode 00 novelette in PDF (additional ePub in the works), plus all seven tracks in both your chosen audio format and a storage-friendly MP3 version.
Checking out
You'll be asked for your email address. That's it. No account required (though you can create one later if you want to keep all your purchases in one place).
If you have any special discount codes, this is also where you input them.
BONUS: You can also GIFT the Sonobela. All you need is their email.
Payment goes through Stripe—you can use your credit card, Google Pay, or Apple Pay even if you don't have an account with either.
The download
Once payment clears, you're taken straight to a download page. No waiting, no "within 24 hours." The files are yours immediately.
You'll also get an email receipt with a backup link, just in case you close the tab too soon or want to download again on another device.
What's in the files
Your chosen audio files are lossless—you get the full richness of the soundtrack exactly as it was mixed and mastered.
But if you’re short on space for your current device, we’ve made much smaller MP3 files available for download as well.
The PDF is formatted for reading on screens or printing. If you get it from our Payhip store, your email will be stamped at the top of each page. (An EPUB version for dedicated e-readers is in the works.)
How to listen
You've got options:
- Use your device's native player. On iPhone, that's the Apple Music app or Files. On Android, Google's Play Music or any file manager. Just tap the audio file and it plays.
- Use your streaming app. If you want your Sonobela soundtrack alongside your regular music library, you can import the files. For example, here’s what to do if you’re a Spotify user:
- On mobile, go to Settings > Show audio files from this device and toggle it on. The files will appear in a "Local Files" folder in Your Library.
- On your desktop, go to Settings > Local Files, turn on "Show Local Files," and add the folder where your Sonobela tracks are stored.
Should I read the eBook or listen to the EP first?
You can enjoy either independently. But for an integrated experience, we’ve marked parts of each chapter in which you can pause reading and play the corresponding track.
Another thing: at the end of the episode, we’ve included the lyrics of all the songs on the record.
